I got a chance to take a week-long workshop with Kathi in Mexico a couple of years ago. It was much more than I had anticipated. Kathi has the energy of some of the most wondrous animals on the planet--she's an eagle, a jaguar, a spider, and a woman all wrapped in one. She leapt about meadows; hung, climbed, and swung fearlessly from trees; led us in a candlelight
dance ritual; and then gave us cogent observations and suggestions on our own dances. She left us in a moss and leaf-covered valley, rolling down its slope in slow motion, and invited us to feel, smell, and meld into the earth. Through her exercises, we danced as
amobas, as snakes, as hummingbirds, as lizards, as shifting mirrors of ourselves. It was a deep and fantastic way to spend a week of my
life. I think the phrase that came to mind at the end of it was cellular revolution, I felt I had
experienced one.
